A detailed insight into my itinerary of Valley Of Flower trek

CaptureSeptember started with a bang. I was out on the very first day for a week long travel adventure. While I was out I was constantly in touch with the social media (as long as I could), apprising everyone about my whereabouts. I tweeted, posted pictures on Instagram and checked in Facebook every now and then. The journey was long with quite a number of halts. I was satiated in my own world that my folks out there know where I am wandering, but to my surprise that wasn’t the case.

When I got back home a lot of people came to me asking more details about the places that I had visited and then I realized that what seemed a series of destinations for me was a labyrinth of places for others. I then thought of writing this post to detail about my itinerary and the order in which I visited all the places. Continue reading

Postcards from the Mountains !!

p1

It has been two days since I am back from my tryst with the mountains and I still cannot get the scenic views out of my head. Being physically back to civilization has very less to do with your mental wandering. Every now and then I take a quick break from work and scroll through the pictures in my cell phone. No matter how much I tell the world as to how magical and mesmerizing the views were, but nothing can do the justice to the visual treat that my eyes had.

Agrasen Ki Baoli – A historical monument in the middle of hustle and bustle of New Delhi !!

I was fascinated to visit Agrasen Ki Baoli ever since I watched the movie PK. Remember Agrasen Ki Baoli was Amir Khan’s abode in the movie. I had made many plans for it but all went for a toss for some or the other reason. Recently I went to Chandani Chowk for a photo walk and while returning I decided to pay a visit to this place. It was an instantenous plan and I went with the flow.

Ishq par zor nahi hai ye woh aatish Ghalib: A visit to Mriza Ghalib’s haveli !!

During the Chandani Chowk photo walk I got the opportunity to visit Mirza Ghalib’s Haveli. We all have heard about this great poet of Mughal’s era but visiting his Haveli was a sublime experience altogether. The Archaeological Survey of India has declared this haveli as a heritage site.

The moment you enter the Haveli you will be transported to the Mughal Era. The brick walls makes it look more authentic. The haveli very nicely represents Mirza Ghalib’s lifestyle. The whole Haveli is adorned by his portraits. You can also very easily spot some of his most popular creations hanging on the brick wall. It was picturesque. Everything in the Haveli was unique in its own way.

What better way to spend the Eid morning than to wander in the lanes of Chandani Chowk !!

It all started when I saw this photo walk event on Facebook. I wasn’t sure of going as it was all about photography and I am obviously not a photographer. But then I saw some ace bloggers accepting the invite and then I thought if not for the photos I have to be there to meet these great people. I have seen their posts, I follow them on every social media and here was a chance to meet them in person. I didn’t wanna give it a miss.

Saturday mornings are a bit difficult for me but the dedication got me going and finally I reached Chandani Chowk, I was in constant touch with Tarun who was one of the organizers. He is also an avid blogger and writes at My Greedy BackPack. He introduced me to the group and then we started with the walk.

After a while everyone wanted to have breakfast, and when in Chandani Chowk how can you eat anything else other than parathas. We made our way to the famous Parathe Wali Gali and treated ourselves with stuffed parathas.

Did you know that there is a Visa Temple in Hyderabad?

My love for Hyderabad is not hidden from anyone, for those who don’ know what I am talking about can refer here.

To bewilder you all a little more let me introduce this amazing temple in Hyderabad, yes you heard it right there is a Visa Temple in Hyderabad. The proper name being Chilkur Balaji Temple but colloquially it is know as Visa Balaji Temple or Visa God. I was new in Hyderabad when I first heard about this temple, and yes I would accept I giggled knowing the existence of such a temple. As time passed I heard more and more people mentioning about it. I too inquired few people about this temple and they all spoke very highly of it.

Why is it called a Visa Balaji Temple?

After hearing so much about it I couldn’t stop myself from doing some research on it. I then found the reason behind the much celebrated Visa Power that this temple boasts. It is believed that during 1980’s a group of students whose visa got rejected by the Chennai US visa consulate visited here and they prayed and sought Lord Balaji’s blessings. After this visit their wishes were fulfilled and they all got their visa. It happened with a lot of other people too and with the undisputed mighty power of word of mouth in no time this temple bagged the title of the first ever Visa Temple in India.

I miss you Hyderabad !!

I have lived in various cities in India. By virtue of my work I have lived in cities sprawling from north to south over India’s map. But you always have a favorite and my pick for that title is Hyderabad. I started my journey from Bangalore. Having heard so much about the pleasant weather and nearby attractions I was very excited for Bangalore. It was the first city I ushered in right from my own home. I had nothing to compare the experience with. Bangalore went pretty well for me and then I got the opportunity to come back and live in northern side of India. The proximity with my own city made me delighted. The thought that I was just five hundred kilometers away from my hometown made me take it for granted and with time my trips got cut down. Just when I was settling in comfortably I was told to make a move and the next destination was Hyderabad. I resisted the change like everyone does but it didn’t work well in my favor. The next thing I know was I was packing my bags for Hyderabad.

Hyderabad was an alien city for me. I knew nothing about it except the information from few trite google searches. I was scared and excited at the same time. Unlike other cities there was nobody here to guide me with the directions, with the eating places and the house hunting. I was literally on road with a diary and pen doing all the work all by myself. By the time I moved to Hyderabad I had enough experience to rate the city and to compare the lifestyle of the cities. While Bangalore is a city of much hustle and bustle Hyderabad is a city of peace. People in Bangalore are always busy in pacing up to the city’s tempo while in Hyderabad you can enjoy the pace of city. You don’t have to hurry yourself to catch up with anything. The city has a momentum that you would be comfortable with and a lifestyle that you can relish, not just live. I can see a lot of heads nodding in disagreement and I respect them all but this is entirely my opinion and I don’t mean to offend anyone in anyway whatsoever.
