Agrasen Ki Baoli – A historical monument in the middle of hustle and bustle of New Delhi !!

I was fascinated to visit Agrasen Ki Baoli ever since I watched the movie PK. Remember Agrasen Ki Baoli was Amir Khan’s abode in the movie. I had made many plans for it but all went for a toss for some or the other reason. Recently I went to Chandani Chowk for a photo walk and while returning I decided to pay a visit to this place. It was an instantenous plan and I went with the flow.

Ishq par zor nahi hai ye woh aatish Ghalib: A visit to Mriza Ghalib’s haveli !!

During the Chandani Chowk photo walk I got the opportunity to visit Mirza Ghalib’s Haveli. We all have heard about this great poet of Mughal’s era but visiting his Haveli was a sublime experience altogether. The Archaeological Survey of India has declared this haveli as a heritage site.

The moment you enter the Haveli you will be transported to the Mughal Era. The brick walls makes it look more authentic. The haveli very nicely represents Mirza Ghalib’s lifestyle. The whole Haveli is adorned by his portraits. You can also very easily spot some of his most popular creations hanging on the brick wall. It was picturesque. Everything in the Haveli was unique in its own way.

What better way to spend the Eid morning than to wander in the lanes of Chandani Chowk !!

It all started when I saw this photo walk event on Facebook. I wasn’t sure of going as it was all about photography and I am obviously not a photographer. But then I saw some ace bloggers accepting the invite and then I thought if not for the photos I have to be there to meet these great people. I have seen their posts, I follow them on every social media and here was a chance to meet them in person. I didn’t wanna give it a miss.

Saturday mornings are a bit difficult for me but the dedication got me going and finally I reached Chandani Chowk, I was in constant touch with Tarun who was one of the organizers. He is also an avid blogger and writes at My Greedy BackPack. He introduced me to the group and then we started with the walk.

After a while everyone wanted to have breakfast, and when in Chandani Chowk how can you eat anything else other than parathas. We made our way to the famous Parathe Wali Gali and treated ourselves with stuffed parathas.
